Happy New Year

We are in a new born year, the 2007. I hope it would be better than last year because 2006 was a terrible year to my people, the Iraqis. But to me it was not bad because, of course, I'm not in Iraq to see all the horrible events that Iraqis facing everyday, and I imagine that you know what kind of problems I'm talking about.
But the good thing I had last year was living in Glasgow. It is the most beautiful place I ever seen and the people also quite kind. I have been here in Glasgow for one year and few months, at the beginning it was very difficult to me to cope with the Glasgow Scottish accent and I was worry about that but now I feel better that I can understand the accent much better. Actually I started to like this accent because I find it different and has a special test when you hear it from a native tongue.
Last year, I spent great time with my friends exploring Glasgow and I hope I would continue seeing all other places of this gorgeous country. Throughout the last finished year I have been working to improve my English and also to meet the requirement of the organization which I need to register with in order to work in my profession.
Three things made the last day of 2006 very special to me and to most of the Iraqis. The Id-ul-fitr day, one of Muslim's celebration days, and the New Year day, which all people around the world celebrate and the last important thing was the end of a man who was a disaster in all means for the Iraqis and the world, who was the messenger of the devil on the earth and I hope that his end would make the life much better for the Iraqis and all the world.
I pray to God from my deep heart that the New Year would be better for my family in Iraq and all people around the world and to my family here, of course, as we expecting a new baby beginning of 2007.
Happy New Year to all of you.
